Hi ladies,

I have been going to an ayurvedic doctor for over the last 2 yrs...The medications seem to be very effective, but I just want to get a 2nd opinion from another ayurvedic doctor who has better bedside manner and can explain to me what these medications actually do and their side effects. also im not sure as to what qualifies someone to be an ayurvedic doctor and if i need to do these checks on the current doctor to ensure that he is well qualified and experienced in his field.

my friend who did a brief course on this told me that one of the medications he has given me, if used on the long term can affect my reproductive system negatively..wen i told him this, he panicked and told me that he was going to stop this medication now anyway and give me an alternative...athough his medications have had a huge difference, this did scare me a bit..

can anyone advise pls?

Thanks everyone - I actually have been to the Karama Ayurvedic centre - im happy with the results like i said as the issue that I have was not resolved by any other regular GPs.. BUT, I just wanted a 2nd opinion as i wanted to know what is it that i was taking and if any side effects.. I will look into the Holistic Health place. Shaf - Thank you for the below - I will keep a check on the qualifications wen consulting the doc

Ayurvedic doctors have to complete a rigorous five and a half years BAMS(Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) in order to qualify. You could try the doctors Al Karama Ayurvedic and Yoga Centre in Karama and get a second opinion. The male doctor at Karama Ayurvedic Centre is particularly good.

Hi Nadiya I do not know at which clinic you are seeing you your ayurvedic doctor but maybe you can try the doctors at Holistic Health on Al Wasl Road. They specialise in both ayurvedic and homeopathic. Good luck
