Couldn't get my feet scraped - tragedy. Plenty of flights still available but we are staying put. No curfew yet although US embassy advising same. All extremely quiet but we are just waiting for it all to kick off. We had a bit of hassle in Saar last night but this situation really needs to be sorted. Thank goodness my kids are in UK. Yes wait and see game, have you got your stock of Cream eggs though? Is the Dilly and Rugby club quiet or are expats venturing out to drown their sorrows?

Him indoors just flew back tonight, he's not yet home but I'll get the story from him when he does. He did say everything eerily quiet, and lots of families boarding planes.

Rumour control has it that internet may go off this evening. Avenue 35 for those of yo in the know is completely barricaded and down onto Saar Av itself. A friends DH has just come in off the causeway and had to ask for them to remove the barricades so he could get home. Just waiting for the poop to hit the fan as they did say to him do not come out again

According to CNN now, it was both ... One Saudi soldier, an under-sergeant, was killed in Bahrain Tuesday, a Saudi official told CNN. The cause of the death was not immediately released. Separately, a Bahraini police officer was killed in the southern city of Sitra. http://edition.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/meast/03/15/bahrain.protests/index.html?hpt=T2

Iran would complain whatever happened, they are not without some part in this. For years they have been sending Imans in with an agenda. UAE is part of the force and will like the other GCC countries not be prepared to give up it's stability to appease Iran, a different sect anyway. edited by Sticky Wicket on 15/03/2011

Actually it is a little alarming that the UAE have sent troops over as well as Saudi. The UAE could ultimately be drawn into a war against Iran because from what I have read, Iran is mightily upset that the troops have been sent in. Interesting......I hope this all sorts itself out soon. I love Bahrain and it's sad to hear about all the problems. me too..I grew up there, went to school there..still have family there. Its a fantastic place.

so here's a question, do you think that Bahrain will expel / strip of passport some of the more radical persons that are causing trouble? No, i think they will just disappear for a very long time. Probably right. Not that this doesn't happen anyway.

We have a three month martial law coming into force. Bring it on - it will certainly be a whole lot safer for us and hopefully will sort out the ******** who are stirring all of this,
