Does anyone know where the beach is in Jebel Ali where you can walk dogs? Someone mentioned it to me but couldnt give directions.

A word of warning: A friend had her dog on that beach about 3 weeks ago. He was well behaved, splashing in the sea, and the local family also on the beach didn't mind at all. As they were packing up a man approached them, showed his municipality badge, told them he had taken their picture, and warned if he saw them on the beach with the dog again, they would be fined AED 2000!!

As I got 2 small very friendly dogs (who love everything and everyone), I do let them off leash sometimes. But only when there’s not too many people and they always stay very close to me. The big one stays at home or on the leash.

do you let the dogs off lead here or do you keep them on the lead when walking on beach. Would love to walk ours but they don't like other dogs so not a good idea if dogs are running free...

DesertRain - should 2 of your "lefts" be rights...? i.e. "[i'>Take the first road to your left. [/i'>" I think this should be right turn towards the hotel? "[i'>Go directly left again, you will be driving on the sand dunes of the beach.[/i'>" I always go right here as left would take you into that area where the quads go round the off-road track thing? Or maybe I have been going to the completely wrong area?! The beach I sometimes go to with pooch has a barrier with the Jebel Ali Hotel and there's always caravans on it?? Am I going to the right place? OMG *blush blush* I have a prob with lefts and rights my whole life :D You’re totally right (or left ;) )

On SZR, keep driving towards AD until you pass the JAFZA offices. The last JAFZA exit is also the one for the Jebel Ali Beach Resort (it has a sign board). Take that one. Keep going straight (you’ll pass some traffic lights) until you come at a roundabout, take left. Take the first road to your RIGHT. Drive until the end of the road, you will need to go right to go to the Beach Resort, but you take left to a sandy road. Go directly RIGHT again, you will be driving on the sand dunes of the beach.
