Just wanted to say thank you to those that took the time to reply and let you know (though hopefully no one will need to know) that I have managed to find one lawyer in Dubai who is qualifed to advise on Australian Family Law. Her name is Emma Williams and she works for Expatriate Law. Have an appointment later today so fingers crossed.

I can't say for sure but I can't imagine there would be too many Aussies out here practicing family law (presuming you mean practing Australian law) as the law of the country out here applies in relation to family issues. Most out here practice corporate, property, M & A, IT law etc. If you want specifc advice relating to Australian law, such as divorce etc (just a guess), then I think you may need to go via someone in Australia like the last poster suggested. Otherwise suggest contacting the Australian embassy, they may be able to assist in finding you someone. edited by SJAussie on 20/01/2011

I am sorry but I don't know anyone here. If I needed Austrailan legal assistance I would contact a law firm in your home state via email. Email me at [email protected] and I will see if I can help you find someone at home who can advise you
