Central vs Split AC
I live in Abu Dhabi, and we are looking for a villa, I have seen a lot, some are very nice but have split AC. I dont like split AC because of decorative reasons and I am scared of leaking problems, however, I was thinking it may not be so bad after all.
My husband has dust allergies and when we travel or he is back home (at his parents house that has split AC) he feels Ok, but here in AD where we have central AC his allergies and stuffy nose get really bad. We get maintenance to clean the AC system a lot, and they come and clean the filters, but I always wonder about that large area where the AC is located, I am guessing there may be so much dust inside which nobody cleans, God know what else may be in there, even mold if there is humidity. However, with split AC, you dont really have that problem right?. You get have the unit, which can easily be maintained I think and no hidden dust. I dont know if my reasoning makes sense???, what do you think?, any experts?.
Anyone with bad/good experiences with split AC??. what is the difference in utilities cost?.
