So she's asking for a 13 th month salary ?
You do not have to provide this she is returning home and u paid her her holiday pay as she didn't work so 1800... She returns and works April u pay her her normal wage 1800
But some people are nice and provide them the 13 th month salary but by law u do not have to do this ... Also if they do not take their flight home u do not have to give them the money ... But people do this and this is what some maids expect now.
Just been all through this with my pro .... You provide them with a flight home after she has worked for u for 12 months if they do not want to renew then u have to provide them a one way ticket home if they font find a new job.
in the contract we got from PRO which is I think a common contract for domestic employees. It stipulates that you have to pay 1 flight home + 1 month leave to yr employee when her contract ends. If I understand well, that means we have to pay 1 flight home every year since the contract is for 1 year renewable.
Sorry, I can't help but what we & our helper agreed is we only pay what is due:
1/ Holiday: 1 month leave = (365-52)/12= 26 working days she can take every year or 2.17 days/month. Every month she will see on her pay slip a number of day corresponding to what she can get.
2/ Flight home allowance: We will pay her only after 1 year according to the contract not before.
Holidays she wants to take in advance can not exceed the number of day she has had and has to be in accordance to the school holidays (easier for us to manage).
Maid has been with us since 2009, in 2010 she approached us and asked for money for her DS OJT we gave her 2000 AED towards this.
I understood that for every 2 years she is in our employment we pay for a flight home for her, in effect this is what I understood
For example she has just returned home for month in March 2011
AED 3000 Flight
AED 1800 Salary
So know she is asking for holiday pay, however, she should get this when she returns in April Salary or else she would have no money in April am I correct?
Otherwise, she will get AED 3600 Salary plus the months holiday
My company doesn’t pay me the holiday pay in advance and then give me additional money the month I return for a month of work I have not done
