Hi Ladies. I have done a small amount of research using EW, and it does seem there is some call for cooking courses/ school. I would really appreciate some feedback from you on this. I am considering a school which covers many aspects of training; from teaching enthusiastic ametuers some new skills, total beginners, teenagers ( to prepare them for perhaps ski season, gap year etc) and short courses for those who would like their maids to know basic food hygiene and prepartion and preparing western food/ dealing with cuts of meat and shopping etc etc. Ideas, feedback, any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I am also wondering if Emirate ladies would be interested in this sort of thing?? I know this is an expat board, but, well we all know men log onto this, so is it possible there is one out there who's advice I can have??? I did mean ask an Emirate ladyfor advice, not a bloke. Wendopia- I am slightly confused......... I read it as "men log onto this so if there is one out there can I have advice. " oops, lol Sorry, but there are lots of ladies on the other site as well if you want some different opinions and ideas.

A couple of years ago we did a Cordon Bleu course with a lovely lady called Rebecca at her house. It lasted 6 weeks, 1 night per week. Someone would bring a bottle of wine or 2 and at the end of the lesson we ate what we'd made then drank the plonk! I'm sure she's still doing courses now. just googled her and found this :) thanks for the tip! "Dubai star* chef Rebecca Corley can teach you (or your home help) how to cook. Linking in with lifestyle-uae, Belinda offers you the nutritional program and Rebecca shows you how to plan, prepare and freeze meals for you and the family. Call Rebecca on 0507141094 for more details."

Would love to learn to make Italian cuisine - whilst enjoying a glass of red! Saw this on a film the other day and thought it was a fab idea! A booze license is definintely somthing I would look into, and a really lovely venue ( villa) where the days cooking would end up on a table with everyone enjoying it. Ooohhh that sounds excellent!! I would also like to send my maid on a western cooking course. She cooks our meals for us now, but everything has to be a recipe, she doesn't seem to understand some of the basic principals of western cooking - not her fault of course. She follows a recipe well, but I can't just leave some fish and veggies out and expect her to be able to make a meal from it, which is what I would like to be able to do. Also if she got a certificate from it it would be good for her for future use.
