Food and service at Toshi is usually very good, not sure if they do a Friday brunch though? The do several theme nights which are good value.

thank you all for your comments! I think I will go for Toshi (Grand Millenium) or Californian (Dusit) in the end. If you have opinions on those, please share :-)

I lived at the marriott apartments for 12 months and at that time didnt really venture out, thought Cucina was fine, but now I would say their menu is very poor in comparison to other brunches I have been too. The staff are great thou, ready to top your glass up.

Thanks! And was it busy? How was the atmosphere? Would you say it's something eg. for a birthday party group or is it rather quiet? thanks :-) We've never found it very busy, but that suits us :) The birthday party group would liven it up! The service is usually very good. There's no live entertainment or anything. On the other hand, if you mention it's a birthday, I'm sure they'll do the whole cake with candles thing! edited by simpleasabc on 09/02/2011

Sara, I think it's quite expensive for what it is - just checked the website: Packages: Dhs 150 net with unlimited water, soft drinks, chilled juices, coffee and tea Dhs 250 net with unlimited house beverages Dhs 65 net for kids aged 6 to 12 years old For those who want to participate with alcohol, they do this "Free Wheels" deal, whereby they'll pick you up by car from anywhere in Dubai, and more importantly, drive you home!

It's very pleasant, quite quiet, but we like the Green Community and sitting outside looking at the lake. The only freshly cooked food on the menu are the egg dishes and the barbecued meats and prawns, the rest is pre-prepared and kept warm. It was the first Dubai brunch we went to, so we have a soft spot for it, but I've since been to The Cellar and Latitudes and the food was much better at both of them. The ordinary Cucina menu is very good, by the way :) How is it price wise?
