I thought generally all British schools had the cut off as 1st September. But FYI, for IB schools the cut off is end Dec, so for the first year which is K1 they have to be 4 years by the end Dec. HTH ;) Can you recommend good IB schools in Dubai? Wellington International on SZR.

DD who is 3 in August will start this sept in FS1 in British cirriculum. I know its so confusing. We were told cut off by sept 1. That's correct as long as they are 3 by 1st sept they can go into fs1/nursery. She will be one of the youngest in her class all the way through and you'll be amazed at how many birthday party invites you will get as soon as you start because the eldest children in the class will be turning 4 !

You are right, Koolest Mum. I have heard of several different cut-off dates in British-curriculum schools. I have heard 3.5 by March 15th for FS1 and 3 by September 1st for FS1.

JHM that helps plenty. many thks. I was confused as I understand some schools consider age cut-off as of dec and others as of sep,. edited by KoolestMum on 08/01/2011

Reception in September. My DD was born Nov 06 and will start in Reception in Sept 2011. The children in that year will have been born between 1 Sept 06 and 31 Aug 07. HTH
