Hi everyone, I really need you help and advise to where I can seek help , I have a 6 years old son who have always been a hard to handle kid , and it is just getting worse every year , so he’s basically just not listening at all , stubborn, arguing, even though I am a very disciplinary parent but it just doesn’t work, now here’s the biggest problem, he’s making troubles at school refusing to do absolutely any work and he talks back to his teacher, he had been suspended from school few times, had a shadow teacher for sometimes but didn’t work, he had been seen by few psychologists and been put on medications but didn’t work, he is just very hard kid , don’t get me wrong I love my son louds, but he just drives me crazy, I am on anti depression medicine now because of that , he doesn’t like sports or arts or crafts... etc , we tried to put him in different activities but just after few weeks coaches would complain and say they can’t accept him anymore because he’s not listening and being disruptive to other kids, he spends his most school time grounded for something he’s done by not going to play yard or being sent coordinator , kids in classroom call him noughty , I have tried rewarding, punishment nothing works, do you know where I can get help please , we’ re welling to stretch our expenses and even housing down sizing and not going on holidays to see family just to afford any help we can get, but we don’t know where , let me tell you last thing about him he’s very smart , he could read at the age of 4 years old , we’ve been told he’s a bright kids but his behavior is just preventing him from doing anything. Please if anyone knows any hospital or behavioral therapist who can help, please tell me .

Hi! I hope you found help for your son. If not, i think he needs ABA specialist to help him. All behavior problems can be addressed if assessed properly. You deal with one behavior at a time and follow a plan consistantly as a family. I am sure he can be helped if matched with a knowledgible professional! Call Fawzi 971 54 796 1815, he is in Dubai and i am sure has access to great specialists in UAE and USA who could help! Tell him Marianna gave you his number ))

Hi, He sounds very much like my son was who has high functioning Aspergers. My son is also highly intelligent but really struggles at times when over stimulated, this for him comes when he is frustrated by something. Because he did not have the tools to regulate the emotion he can move from frustration into a full meltdown where you cannot communicate with him. He is also a perfectionist so many different things can trigger him into anger. My son is 10 now and I’ve noticed as he is getting older he has more understanding of his own triggers and how to control emotion. I know how hard it is, it’s tougher than tough where you are right now, but I’d suggest getting the child psychologist and teacher together with yourself to work through a plan of support for your son. Have you had your son tested for the autism spectrum? These kids once coupled up with tge therapists do amazing things. Your son sounds like a gorgeous and intelligent little boy who is trying his best......like you are in supporting him with his needs. Once I got my son into specialist support for his Aspergers (including the diagnosis) it all made sense regarding the behaviour. Keep your head held high and stay strong. Your words resonate so strongly with me. I’m new on here, but if you want to discuss further I’m happy too. Solomum x

It sounds like your child is struggling mentally and emotionally as well and needs the proper 'tools' to understand the world around him, as well as, how to interact socially and develop himself personally and emotionally. I understand your child had seen some psychologists, but how about having him assessed with a good therapy clinic. I would recommend Camali Clinic as we have used them a lot and they are very good with children. Best wishes!

How I wish to help. I have a student 5 yr old.She is only doing what she wants and is always shouting in the classroom.Once I told her to stop she will never stop and instead showed her worst ever. But I tried to reverse my approach. Whenever she is so uncontrollable I pat her head and saying to her in soft voice that she is good. She will follow teacher because teacher love her. Then i hug her showing to her that i really love her.Everyday that is our scenario. She is very smart in academics .Only her behavior is so indifferent. Classes will end by term 3 and this student shows improvement in her manners. Patience , love and support should be felt by this case. Don't stop believing that one day his worst will be at his best.

Have you tried finding something that challenges him mentally? I have noticed before that giving smart children something that challenges them mentally often helps to distract them. Maybe it's just a case of not being stimulated enough? Please let is know how it goes!

OMG Your son is really been mistreated! The children in his class call him naughty and no one stopped that!! He is only 6 years old! Whatever his condition or no condition, your son is suffering from exclusion and bullying!!! Can’t you please step up and ask the school what on earth they have done to include your son in??!!! If he is special needs student; then reports will be there and the schools must help him to be included, if he is suffering from that treatment and it results in him seen a physician then this report should be a support document in your complaint against the school with Khda !!! Your son is refusing the bad treatment and that’s why he doesn’t want to listen to anyone who doesn’t want to listen to him, it’s simple and plain! I suggest you set down with your little boy and see what does he want to do, listen to your son and stop listening to others telling you what he should act or behave! Hugs for your little man

Why don't you give more patience and time to him and asked him what he like and wants???
