DH is away and I've tried to undo that u-bend pipe thingy under the sink and it's all gone very, very wrong.

To give some background - I am fostering a cat and, today whilst I was at work, she has pooped in the sink. Big GRRRRR. Disgusting. She has a clean litter tray, but noooo, she went for the sink (with no plug because it broke. Of course). And, of course, it's while DH is away for a week working.
So, I put that un-clogging stuff down the sink after I cleaned it, as water was building up and now it's leaking out of the pipe and the rubbish plywood of the cabinet below is melting away. I thought I'd try and undo the pipe bit and clean it out, but now it's half off and I can't get it back on.
Overall, I'm just having a terrible evening. It's times like these I really miss having a dad or brother around to come and fix things when I break them!
Sorry, just ranting a bit. Grrrr!
