Hi my DH and I moved to Dubai a while ago and haven't yet registered with a general doctor or a dentist. I was thinking of registering with Nichols & Asp and I would like to know how they are rated? We live in the Springs.

Had an appt for dd at the Marina location. Sat for an hour. Approached the desk, and was told they had looked for us, and we must have gone out for coffee! Would not back down in spite of my indignant denial. THEN, the doctor herself continued on insisting that we stepped out for coffee!!! Really regret finishing the appt and paying. For the record, we never left the waiting room, and indeed were the only ones in it for a good portion of the time. We are also neither blind nor deaf. So outrageous.

I think they are great (I recommended them in another thread for children) but they do treat you like a blank cheque IMO. X ray for each family member, another x ray to show potential cavities, another x ray for this and that etc etc. Check prices first and query each treatment. Like I said, what they do is very good but they assume we all have company dental policies and personally, I felt a little robbed last time I went there. Also, I don't really this the orthodontist there (should you need one) is the most child friendly one! Lovely and clean though and very thorough. We go to the Marina branch - both for GP and Dentistry - and they're really good. Dr Alexander (Dentist) is really lovely, exceptionally thorough, gentle and amiable, and he gives you all the treatment options so that you can make an informed decision in your own time. He's my new favourite dentist of all time!

Thank you ladies, the Dubai London clinic sounds interesting DH just said he hears good things, do they do dentistry and general doctor medicine (GP?)? I don't want to be treated like a blank cheque that is the worst experience and I know dentists like to do that.

Thank you AdviceSeeker and Sanddy, I am mainly interested in dental as I fear I may need one soon :-( There is a Medows clinic in the Springs area I wonder if that has good general doctors. All advice is greatly appreciated For dentist Dr Thomas at the Drs Nicholas and Asp Jumeirah branch is really good... Are you talking about the Rosary clinic in the springs? don't think they have dentists, they're OK as doctors when its either late at night or nowhere else to go, but I wouldn't use them as my primary clinic... If you're talking about the Emaar health clinic in the meadows/springs then I can't comment as have never been there, just heard they're pricey...

There was a doctor there who was absolutely shocking but his name seems to have disappeared from the list, thank goodness. I did chuckle at "Obstertiecs". I also find this picture a little disturbing LOL! http://www.nicolasandasp.com/medical.html LOL, don't know what's worse, the bling bling teeth, the fake tan or the whole overall staged cheesiness ;)
