Her passport should not be stamped at any of the borders nor will she have to pay for any of the fees. She may have to show her passport but it shouldn't be stamped. Hope that helps. I did quite a few of those visa runs whilst sorting out DD's residency visa. edited by Babyrat on 17/01/2011

@Babyrat Many thanks for your post. To avoid any bother I don't want to get anything wrong when I go tomorrow. Do you mean not to get it stamped at the Hatta office which is where you get the first stamp, or at the Oman office when you get their entry and exit stamp, or both ?

Make sure that no one stamps her passport. She will have to hand her passport over at the border. Mine was stamped by mistake and you can imagine it took me about two hours hanging around to get it rectified.

Hi, i've done this a few times -- as your friend already has a residency visa, she does not need to go through the whole process of obtaining another visa and paying the fees. When you get to the Oman border, just let the immigration officer at the counter know that you are the only one that needs an entrance and exit Oman visa but there are two people in the car. The officer will stamp your passport and note on the white exit slip there are 2 people in the car.

I don't know officially but I'm thinking it can't hurt if she goes through with you? - maybe I'm worng but I guess it would just be a stamp in, stamp out the same as when she normally leaves the country to go on holiday?

I have to do a visa run (hopefully for the last time) and am taking a friend for company. She has a residency visa so does she have to pay any fees at the border or is it better to drop her at Hatta Fort and carry on by myself ?
