Hi,
I am pregnant with my second and am currently with Dr Yamini at Al Zahra hospital in Al Barsha. Just wondering if anyone else is seeing her or has had their baby delivered by Dr Yamini and how their experience was. Just trying to make sure i am with the right doctor before delivery.Thanks :)

I was with Dr Yamini with my daughter (she is now 21 month old). I choose Al Zahra because I wanted a hospital that would be close enough to home + good facilities/equipment and based on reviews on EW I choose Yamini. She was throughout my pregnancy and generally can't say anything bad about her (except she made me nervous couple of times - once it was about gestational diabetes and another time she said my baby's legs were too short). When it came to THE DAY, she didn't show up as it was Friday. She was on the phone couple of times with the midwife Emma (who was brilliant, BTW) and later, after delivery just said I was doing great as per midwife and her help wasn't necessary.

I think that she may be okay with uncomplicated pregnancies but once you throw in a complication then.... lets just say you never want to be in that situation. I had a terrible experience with her due to a complication and would never go back to her again but I have also read a few reviews on her that were good. So I guess just go with your instinct. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!

I had my daughter with her 3 years ago. & did a last minute switch from Dr Elsa (at City) to Yamini because Dr Elsa while claiming to be pro natural had told me that at 42 weeks I would need to schedule a c-section (as my first was an emergency c secrion). The day I turned 40 weeks she told me that I needed to have a csection my baby isn't engaged blah blah. Long story short I ended up at Al Zahra with Dr Yamini as she seemed more pro natural, she offered to sweep my membranes (something I'd never heard of) and I decided to give it a shot.l...but my cervix was still too high. I ended up going into labor on my own two days later and while Al Zahra during the tour seemed to be sooo pronatural, Dr Yamini certainly is not (and as all OBs are surgeons I really no longer believe any of them are pro natural). During my labor she said something to one of the nurses and I asked her what she said and she told me "this is medical terminology you wouldn't understand." If I wasn't in active labor I would have walked out of the hospital! I managed to get to 9 cm after about 13 hours of labor (it took one hour to get from 8 to 9cm) only to then be told by Dr Yamini that my baby's heartbeat is too low and we "don't have an hour to wait for you to get to 10cm". Once she said that my body literally gave up, however it took well over one hour for them to prep me for the csection with the nurses all shouting "don't push don't push" If you're looking for a natural delivery i don't know what your options are as I feel all obs just want to cut. If there's a hospital here that just let the nurses handle it until the patient is 10cm or only call the dr when there is a problem then that's the hospital I'd choose. I however didn't feel that Dr Yamini was open enough during my labor with keeping me informed nor did I appreciate her attitude. That's my two cents.
