Fish Fight!!!!
I’m not a huge fish lover, although I have always loved good old British cod n chips. Oh how our opinions have just been persuaded otherwise………...
We’ve just sat through Hugh Fearnley-Whittenstall’s 3 hour long programmes to promote his ‘fish fight’ (UK Channel 4/fish) campaign to abolish the ‘discarding’ of up to 80% of commercial fishermans catches, amounting to TONNES of fish being thrown overboard dead, as they’re legally not allowed to bring them in due to EC fishing quotas, all in the name of protecting various species! It’s TOTAL madness!!!
Cod is supposedly endangered due to over fishing so the EUC have demanded that fisherman can only ‘land’ certain quota of said fish which due to trawling methods the endangered fish are still caught and thrown back to sea dead ….. I’m still reeling over this (scuse the pun), but feel so strongly to spread the word as Hugh himself is so admirably doing I just had to post ……….. It doesn’t end with just cod …… so called tuna friendly cans still catch dolphins, sharks & turtles ……..
Please please if you have the time on your hands, a suitable v p n in place please watch Hughs programs, or just google fish fight please sign up to this worthy cause to protect out sea environment and fish menus of the future!
