Anyone with freckles?

I'm not a red head. I have dark hair but I'm blessed with (NOT) pale skin and freckles on my arms.

I've had these freckles all my life but now they decide to change colour. They are going a bit 'brown'. Dr said nothing to worry about, just cosmetic and nothing health/serious related.

Anyone else done anything about pigmentation or skin conditions regarding 'colour' and had positive results. Wondering if those 'lightening' creams work?

Yea I'm sure it can't be good for you, I saw the same programme as you. But I've seen so many of these products by 'big' names that I'm considering trying it. But to be honest I am doubtful as I think freckles, although a pigmentation issue might be in a different league. I've seen Clinique do one - its apparently guaranteed to take away brown spots. The other's are SKII, Shisedo, Loreal, Ponds, Dermalogica, Prescriptives. These are just the ones that I've come across in Malls. I'm sure there are lots more. All useless I should imagine. I could be wrong though.

I saw something on CNN recently about lightening creams. A UK journalist with Indian heritage tried them out as it's apparently common in their culture to want to be whiter. Many of the creams (at least in the UK) have dangerous ingredients in them that aren't approved by the drug authority there. The best one was by a major company, Lancome or such, and it was found to really only simulate having a facial because you massage it in. It didn't contain the damaging ingredient so wasn't bad for the skin, but certainly didn't lighten it!

I love freckles! Wish I had them! Always the way - I have one daughter with pale white skin, brown hair and freckles and another with blonde hair olive skin and one freckle on her leg. They both wish they had the others colouring.

yes, you're right, i do cover up all the time, but maybe i've been a little lax with my sunscreen. saw spf 100 the other day - but think spf 50 should be ok. I have weird skin, very pale, freckles, dark brown hair but I don't actually burn or tan so not very common.

Wear sunscreen all the time and long sleeved tops. If they're darker the chances are you're spending more time in the sun. Are you pregnant, pregnancy can cause pigmentation to go darker. I can't imagine bleaching creams are really very good for you.

LOL - thats funny - I see the title causing confusion. The ''learn to love'' freckles doesn't work for me. Hate them, always have :(
