Well, I'm pleased then :-D. And put it this way, you can rest assured nothing's going to change while John Paul Langbroek's in opposition either. We are a doomed state. Anna is progressively selling off any asset she can get her hands on. Her legacy to QLDers will be a world of debt with no chance to recoup because anything that has a chance of earning a profit will be owned by private enterprise.

Actually BMaP it did cheer me up......you made me realise one of the reasons we moved away was the rubbish govt! Feel better today, went out for a nice breakfast with DH and maybe some shopping later.....thanks to all for cheering me up :)

It probably won't help you guys I guess as you are missing friends and family and it's not about the weather, but this has not been one of Brizzie's finest weekends... Weather is cool and squally. It is not very pleasant to be out and we are waiting on a cyclone to hit up the coast, with warnings another may hit there later this week so the rain will impact SE QLD again. The disaster management group, recently let go after the floods, has been called back into action and are screaming about 2 cyclones hitting at the same time. Everyone else is bitching and arguing about Federal Flood Levys. The paper today is raging about illegal prostitution in QLD and warning that decade-old reforms aimed at regulating prostitution are on the brink of collapse. And Captain Bligh has been accused of covering up one of her MP's involvement in sacking a constituent. Just another day in "sunny Queensland"! But seriously, I'm sorry you're all feeling that way and I will be reading to find out what you do to alleviate it as I suspect I could be writing such posts in a few months' time. Be kind to yourselves. edited by Buy me a Pony on 30/01/2011

I went through a bout of homesickness when I had been here for about 6 months (after a few glasses of vino) and it was the only real time I have been truly upset at not being back home. After I have visited, I take a while to get back into the swing of Dubai, but really, you just have to remember that you can always go home for a visit or encourage visitors to come to you. A visit to the beach or a hotel for day reminds you what is good about Dubai! xx

Take heart, it does get better, it just takes time. You will meet some amazing people in Dubai and here on the forum. Just hang in there :) that is just too funny because my nickname is Little One!!

Where are you from? How long have you been here? where do you live? Do you know many people here? sometimes it helps to get together with someone and try to get your mind off it.
