I use a private car and driver who has really good English. He gives them a 5 hour guided tour for 500aed. It was the same price for 2 as it was for 4 (maximum amount in the very nice sedan). They can chose where to go and how much time they want to spend in each place. I have not had any complaints. For shorter trips it is 100aed per hour or part thereof. Let me know if you want his details. Yes PLEASE!!! What a brilliant idea !!

Maybe a Desert Safari? My brother and gf were just here and did this by themselves. They had a great time. Good thing is that they come and pick you up from home and bring you back afterwards. The safari included dinner, camel riding, henna painting and all sorts of fun stuff. I don't recall the name of the company, but they all offer more or less the same. And there are vouchers in Entertainer for a couple of companies.

Try the Big Bus tours then they can hop on and off the bus wherever the bus goes. The bus goes to most malls and attractions in Dubai.
