Hi All,

Does anyone know how important the birth certificate of the sponsor is to the process of being accepted for a residence visa in Dubai.

Its complicated but I am a British citizen but do not have a birth certificate and cannot obtain one- my new employer in Dubai has said its needed sometimes and that my application may be rejected on the basis of this...,MOHRE have said they do not require a birth certificate.

What am I to think?

Thank you

Aaliyah

I think they are being snoopy and possibly racist. If you arent here yet and havent been you nay not have heard this question: But where are you REALLY from? If you hold a British, US or Australian passport but have a non-western name or dont have fair features (hair, eyes, skin) you "just have the passport but arent really from there". It may annoy you at first but all of my friends who have gone through it do not pay attention to it any longer. Tell them you do not have and cannot get the copy but if they provide a written request from the government departmenr requesting it then you can give that to the UK dept of naturalization and see what they can do.

Thank you both! I wasn't born in the UK but have lived here from the age of 2 and not as easy as requesting a birth certificate from country of origin either.. Certificate of neutralisation is good suggestion but I figured my passport is surely confirmation enough... I think my potential employer is perhaps just being overly cautious... Glad to hear you haven't needed it in your relative experiences. Thanks again! :rainbow::flower:

I h ave needed my birth certificate twice only whilst here. In both situations it had to do with details required re my parents. If you were not born a UK cotizen and your country of birth has no traceable birth record then suvmission of your natualization certificate ahould be suffice. If you are a born Brit then it is really easy to get a copy of your birth certificate from UK.

What am I to think? Thank you Aaliyah I have never been asked for my birth certificate and have been here for 10 years. When you say sponsor do you mean the company? I don't know why you cannot request a copy of your birth certificate from the county registry office. Everyone can apply for a duplicate copy
