Hi

apologies I know Phuket has been done to death recently but am confused as what to do .... have got quotes for both hotels (Hilton arcardia & Holiday Inn) but don't know which to go with IF either ...

Am square eyed from looking at reviews and they seem so mixed.

Also some people tell me to stay AWAY from Patong and others say its ok .... bearing in mind we have a 17 month old. Looking for family friendly hotel but as DD is still so young kids clubs etc are not really a priority ....

Thoughts PLEASE ..... need to book by tomorrow in order to get flights etc ,,, hoping to go in two wks .... #

Thank you

Curly

Hi CurlyOB, Movenpick in Kata is very nice but again, you have to cross the road to get to the beach which is public. Can honestly say that we have had nothing but great holidays at Le Meridien and it has been such good value for money. If you want to chat some more about Phuket, I am happy to call you, just shout.

thanks so much for your replies I appreciate it. Am also looking up the Meridien on your recommendation Ashes and its also an option so I may ask for a quote there too and see how all quotes stack up. My time is running out as we hope to go March 25th for two wks so I need to get a move on with my decision .... i am SO BAD at choosing things like this and of course DH has left it all to me .... Will also look at Moevenpick as an option as its been recommended to me before also although I am probably adding to my confusion. thansk again

What I don't like about the hotels in Patong itself is that you have to cross the road to get to the beach and you will get harassed by vendors on the beach all day. We stay at Le Meridien which is about 10 mins by tuk tuk south of Patong and it has it's own beach, a great pool especially if you have little ones, lovely restaurants and great baby sitters which means that you and hubby can have a night or two in Patong if you want. I cannot recommend it highly enough and the staff there have been amazing every time we have stayed there and we will always go back there now. You get good deals via www.asia-discovery.com on all Phuket hotels. Good luck with your decision.

agree with Claire, Hilton was really good, don't know anything about Holiday in sorry. We were at the Hilton Arcadia 3 years ago. My DS was only 7 months when I was there, so too young for the kids club but I did go in with him to get out of the sun for a while - staff were lovely and they had baby/toddler type toys. I have been to Phuket many times and one trip to Patong each visit is enough for me, especially with LOs (just my opinion)

We have been to the Hilton Arcadia and it was lovely - very child friendly and the kids club was lovely. Kids were extremely well catered for and did lots of beautiful art based projects. the girls in the kids club were lovely and there was a lovely play area too. It was a couple of years ago but we loved it. Friend is going to Holiday Inn in a few weeks and that sounds nice - very family orientated. Another one that was recommended to me by a friend who stayed there was the Movenpick - she sent me photos and it looked amazing. We ended up booking the Hilton and we were very well looked after and had a super holiday there.
