Morning ladies, is anyone able to recommend a hotel in Penang suitable for a couple? We usually prefer staying in 'boutique' type hotels rather than a huge chain, but any information/recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Hoping to visit mid March, want to see George Town and anything else people feel is worth visiting.. Thank you.

George Town is great visit the Unesco world heritage clan houses , follow street art trail. Eat at Teksen for amazing local food. Go to Penang Hill for amazing views . Also Kek Lok Si temple . Great street food at Guerney drive and if you want a taste of the rainforest and hiking Penang national park. Hope u enjoy we loved Malaysia and penang

We're going to Malaysia in a couple of weeks time and spending two nights in Penang. We will be staying at the Eastern & Oriental Hotel in George Town. My sister and brother in law visited the hotel for a couple of drinks when they were in Penang a couple of years' ago and said it was a bit like Raffles in Singapore and the pictures on the hotel's website seem to bear this out. Also, a friend who is Malaysian said that it is a great hotel and would suit us well - a sixty years young couple who like a bit of luxury, the occasional drink (?) with a nice meal and in an interesting area to walk around.

If no one responds try Trip Advisor for the Hotels, they have very good reviews on where to stay etc
