How Many Grams is a "Stick of Butter" ?

ps i have notcied the sticks/packs of butter here come in different sizes depending on the make, how confusing is that. At least in the uk, you tend to get the same size no matter what the make! keep things interesting. Now i must go and add a set of scales to my shopping list.

lol had to laugh at this too because i am making hot cross buns with LO and i have no scales so guessing the amount of butter, judging the amount of flour, making up the amout of milk etc etc ! Waiting on them rising now before puting them in the oven. At least i know what temperature to set the oven. Will be a miracle if they are edible! lol

ooh see how I thought that a stick might be about 175g !!!!!!!! thats very specific 113g ! no wonder my cookies were a tad on the oily side !!!! a knob of butter is always a good 50g for me :)

Ha ha! I was baking this morning and wondering the same thing! So, according to the link a stick of butter is 113gms...! Lol!

An American "stick" is a half-size UK "pack" of butter, i.e. it's 4oz/112g. HTH!

I have seen it in soo many recipes but we dont get sticks of butter in the UK so no idea how much I add in ! I have seen the sticks of Almarai butter in Carrefore but not sure if thats the correct one !
