How to book an emirates flight online - when you are not one of the travellers?

So I can't book online for my daughter travelling out here from the uk. How do I do it is it best to go down to the emirates office - will I get the same rate at the office - online i see the amount in pounds as she is coming from that direction but if I book here does that mean it will be more expensive?

Any advice/tips?

bingo - i did it through expedia and it was £16 cheaper than direct with emirates. Slight hiccup as it wouldn't take my uae cc but my uk one worked ok! i have yet to book a flight here that expedia could not beat!

The emirates site says if you are not a traveller you can't book online with a credit card. Maybe when you put in your name for payment and its not the same as the traveller it stops. I have never been asked to show my cc when travelling. I have a look and see if i can do it through expedia or ebookers rather than direct with emirates. You book a ticket for you as well and lose 100 dhs but still get the discount.

When I have done it for parents, I have had to do it by way of bank transfer. Not ideal but it works.

i do this regularly for my family, i use expedia.couk or travelocity.co.uk - always cheaper than emirates. they're set up with my uk debit card so super easy.

Good point FF, I use expedia when I'm paying with my UK account and Emirates when paying with my UAE account. Further to my last message though I didn't want to pay the 7% so my friend booked me on using her credit card and I just immediately printed out the e-ticket then checked in on line so that I wasn't required to show her CC at the airport.

When we book for our parents, we do it via Expedia or Ebookers. But this is because we go for the cheapest fare and want to compare. The last flights we booked were with Emirates and via Ebookers. Ebookers send you the Emirates reference so you can immediately go online to Emirates and do your seat/meal selection etc. I've never tried to book directly with Emirates.

You book online and then go to DNATA to prove that it is your CC and allow her to fly. Or you book both of you online and then cancel your flight for 100dhs at DNATA and still save the %. Or go to DNATA and speak to them and ask their advice and use their computers there to book online, i have done this several times previously when booking UM's.

I always book Emirates online until recently when they asked for a credit card which I didn't have, so I called up the booking line to reserve the flight then pay at the office - they charged my 7% more since the online rates are always cheaper! (ie minus the booking fee). Is there no way you can do it online? Also be careful that they don't use your credit card for identity purposes, otherwise your daughter will need to show this at check-in to be allowed to board.
