Hi, Have any of you tried the HRT cake? My Mother in Law can't take any medication and she came across the cake and gave it a go. She has no mood swings or sweats at all and swears by it. 4 oz. (100g) Soya Flour 4 oz. (100g) Wholewheat Flour 8 oz. (200g) Raisins 4 oz. (100g) Porridge Oats 4 oz. (100g) Linseeds 2 oz. (50g) Sunflower Seeds 2 oz. (50g) Pumpkin Seeds 2 oz. (50g) Sesame Seeds 2 oz. (50g) Flaked/Chopped Almonds Half teaspoon Nutmeg Half teaspoon Cinnamon Half teaspoon Ground Ginger 2 pieces Stem Ginger, chopped One tablespoon Malt Extract Approx. 3/4 pint Soya Milk Method: Put dry ingredients into a large bowl and mix thoroughly. Add Soya Milk and Malt Extract. Mix well and leave to soak for half an hour. If mixture is too stiff, add more Soya Milk. Spoon into two small loaf tins lined with oiled greaseproof paper. Bake in oven, Gas 5/190c/375f for about 75 minutes. Turn out and leave to cool. Eat a slice daily, spread thinly with low-fat spread if desired. (Cakes can be frozen and used as required.)

It's used quite extensively in the UK, but not on the NHS. Essentially it is IS HRT, but a much more 'natural', body-friendly version. I discovered them after reading an article in the UK's Sunday Times about 18 months ago (http://www.mariongluckclinic.com/), and by chance was seeing Dr Anna at Dubai London Clinic, had some blood tests done, and she put me on them. I feel fabulous on it! The actual prescription isn't covered by insurance (and I have very good insurance), but it works out at about AED 300-350 every couple of months for me for my cream (obviously depends on the strength you get prescribed), but I think it's well worth it. Haven't experienced any downsides!

Hi - have you tried the Anti-Ageing Compounding Pharmacy in Healthcare City? I've been getting my bio-identical progesterone there (through Dr Anna at LDC), and I believe it's the only pharmacy in the region that does things like that. Not sure if they do what you are after, but worth a try (04 452 0646) Thank you for the info Pinks. I actually just started to look into Bio Identical Hormone Treatment last night. Im not finding any Dr's or specialists who are giving a clear answer on what they think about it online. They all seem to say that there is not enough research yet. How are you finding it? Have you ever tried HRT?

Hi Ladies, I was diagnosed with premature ovarian failure which essentially means that my body has gone into full menopause even though I'm not yet even 40. I am having huge problems getting the medication I need here in Dubai. Dr Elsa has been really fantastic but I have hit a complete roadblock trying to source the new meds. Does anyone have any experience with this? I need to get Estracomb with is combined oestrogen and progesterone. There are no gels available in this market, which is a crying shame, the only option is the patch - I think. I do know that the injection and the HRT pill are not options for me. Help..... Thank you
