hi we are thinking of moving to Jumeirah Islands. Can anybody advise their thoughts about this area. We have 3 young children. There are so many places available to rent there I am concerned there maybe a negative reason for this. thankyou.

We lived there for 3 years when it was first built and there are build issues with some of the clusters but they are lovely homes and the villa we were in was fine. some do leak badly in the rain but most were worked on and the leak problem should have been resolved. I was there a few weeks ago and I thought it looked really sad as it's not being maintained as well as it was but I suppose that's because of Nakheel's financial situation. the community centre has still not opened - 5 years on!!!!! Some of the clusters close to the water experience bad mosquitoes and smells - again, we were close to water but really didn't have any issues - it just seems to be where you are located. We moved to Arabian Ranches and the build quality of the villas is far far better, the community pools are well maintained as are the communal play areas and the landscaping is beautiful. We far far prefer AR to JI. AR is also far better located. I don't go down to the JI area of town very often now and being in AR I see far more of Dubai as it's much easier to get to places from there.
