The same goes for Dentists, I know so many people who have been told they need a root canal filling but on second opinion just need antibiotics to clear an infection and a small filling.
Great advice. People forget that healthcare here is basically a business and many places do unnecessary procedures and charge insurance a fortune for it.
Recently I was told I needed a major operation. Had XRays and MRI. I went for a second and a third opinion and thank god I did.
Turned out I just needed a cortisone injection and physio.
I have been pretty upset and scared given what I was told initially.
So all I am saying is 'please' take your scans and xrays and get a good second opinion before relying on the first one.
