I was in Dubai for 2 weeks and saw the shoreline Apartments on the palm. They are nice and the price is good... They have club houses with pool and beach only available for residence. The buildings 1-10 are on the same side as the beach clubs, building 10-20 are on the other side of the road, so you need to cross to the other side to use the beach club. The apartments are not huge! But I loved the style and the atmosphere. If I didn't have children I would definitely pick the Palms.... We are also just moving to Dubai soon, but we have decided not to pick the Palms, because of my children. They chose the greens!

Thank you Chrissy23 & saggi_1 for your comments. Seems like Tiara & Marina are the best options to live in PJ, it seems very nice in pics. Can't wait to check out the places in Feb and make new friends in Dubai.

The apartments in Marina residences are very nice (quite expensive) but very nice. However, if you have a unit that is located on the road side the traffic and building noise is quite bad so you ideally need a unit on the sea/beach side. I live in The Greens now and absolutely love it. No traffic issues, no traffic noise, great location, easy access, always plenty of taxis and the build quality is great.

kitkat89 Palm and life here is amazing.. we love it... we have been here for over two years... Buildings you may want to consider Oceana/Tiara (with beach access) definitely the best with lounge/cafes inside the building almost like a lovely resort lifestyle , but slightly steep Marina Residences really nice with good finish and well maintained community with great views. Golden Mile: amazing finish too and close to the park however no gym and pool access - also if you choose something facing the main road - you will only see construction Shoreline: only good thing is access to beach - but very bad finish and maintainence...not the best choice although cheaper than the rest... take into consideration the chiller cost and housing fee (however this you will have to pay even in JLT and some places in Marina Traffic: absolutely negligible.......... i have never ever got stuck so far except 31st Dec 2013 when the roads were blocked... Groceries: there are small marts /pharmacies etc that deliver.... Overall worth the money... lovely place..Goodluck with your search...

Hi kitkat89, We've moved to Palm this year and before moving here I've seen dozens of apartments in Dubai. I would suggest you to do the same cause it is all about your lifestyle + budget. You should feel the ambiance of the location and feel the value of it. We loved Palm! And even though we could've get a 3 br apt in Greens, we've chosen to live here in a 2 br apt. Is it over priced? YES. Is it worth it? For us. YES again. The reason why we've found it worth: 1.We're living in the Marina Residences and inside of the apt is in a much better quality, finishings and the layout plans are better than any residence we've seen. -rooms are definitely bigger, main decoration is better for our taste- 2.Not sure what it has been raised as a downside about the traffic here, cause I 've never seen any. Especially comparing to Marina and JBR, you wouldn't call it traffic. 3.It is close to the office of my DH, he's coming here without getting stuck in the traffic. 4.It is close to JBR, Marina, MOE, Ibn Batuta Mall, Souk Medinat, fair close to get a taxi if you'd like. But if I weren't driving, I would definitely pick an apt around Marina or JBR as Palm is a bit isolated area. I had never faced a difficulty of finding a taxi here -I need it very occasionally- , but I feel like it might be an issue on hotter days. There's no tram or metro here and not sure if the transportation to Atlantis hotel is connected to the Palm tram station. Even if it is, I don't see it as an easy option as you'll need lots of get ins-get ons. Good luck with the move! edited by xN on 02/01/2015 Dear xN- Thank you so much for detailed response, this is very helpful. We would definitely search and check out apartments before we sign off something. My DH's work location is also close to PJ, and from budget point of view Palm is within our Budget so we feel positive vibes so far about Palm. We both plan to buy 2 cars so reliance on Public transportation will be very minimum for us. Thanks again  Well, 2 more points about the Palm: -This area is one of the most expensive lands in the world, which makes car parking is an issue cause space is limited. Most of the 2 br apt/ or even some 3 br ones have 1 car parking place reserved for the apt. We used to have 2 cars back in our home country but here we have just one and it is enough, cause it is just the 2 of us-no kids for the moment-. Which makes us saving some more money:) Another thing is in the Palm District chiller fee which is avg.500 Dhs per month -for a 2 br apt, it increases with the sqft- , consider this as a hidden cost for living in the Palm. And most of the time it is the tenant paying CF, realestate agents seem to hide it but you'll end up with this cost. But it is negotiable -even the RE agents say the contraire- ask the LL to pay for it. I've found 2 apts in the Palm who'd accepted but we've ended up in another for which we are paying the chiller fee:/

If I'm entirely honest, and I'm sure others might agree, you may want to consider looking elsewhere other than Palm Jumeirah. You can get much nicer apartments, in a much better location for less. Depending on where your careers will be, try JLT/Marina/Tecom or somewhere. They're sort of near the Palm, but you won't get the hassle of trying to get to and from your home every day due to traffic. My husband and I moved to the Marina recently and absolutely love it. Good luck in your search however :) edited by Haim on 31/12/2014 Thank you Haim for your reply. We took Dubai Marina out of consideration due to traffic issues, are you happy with the traffic situation? Which building you would recommend?. We had heard Palm Jumeirah is comparatively calm and perfect location to be close to beach due to which we are more inclined towards Palm Jumeirah.

Traffic on the Palm? When? Live here for the last 3 years and experienced traffic 2-4 times only. Depends on the budget. Oceana and Tiara are nice
