Our very much loved African Grey was blown away in a gust of wind this afternoon and flew over our wall in Garhoud. He is tame, very chatty (but will be scared out his wits) and ringed. His name is Max. Grey with a short red feathered tail. Please if you hear him, or know of someone who has found a grey parrot, please let me know. We are so worried as its cold and windy and he's never been lost before.

there is Al Safa vet Mirdiff and many pet shops in Miridiff too... dont know about Garhoud. I have seen people turning to pet shops with unwanted animals including birds and I saw it at Petzone and in Pets plus (on sheikh zayed road)..

there are bird shops on plant street in satwa. I would go down there and have a look at them..some are tucked in along with the plants. is there any pet shops around you?

Now on our third day and still no sign or sound of our beloved Max. Lost in Garhoud on 11th Street. Am just devastated... would have thought someone would have found him by now, especially considering we live in a company compound where everyone knows but nothing.. I've done radio ads, flyers to all the neighbours outside the compound, Dubizzle, flyers on lamp posts, spoken to vets.. but nothing. Has anyone lost an African grey and been reunited with it? I'm losing faith that he could still be alive....... Also we have lots of different nationalities living across the road - does anyone know where they might take a lost or injured bird? I would personally go to Nad al Sheba but don't know if everyone would do the same?? Is there a Garhoud vet???

Print up flyers with a reward, pass around your neighbourhood to maids, gardeners, security etc. Post them up at all retail outlets in the area. Phone the vets and put up flyers in their offices. Put a BIG notice in dubizzle with a picture appealing for his return. Contact pet shops in your area and keep an eye out he might just "turn up". Advise municipality that you have lost an African Grey, long shot but you never know. I would also put a post on the main forum and ask the mods to please leave it up. Hope you find Max soon. All the best.
