Try Mathew Swift - 0556801966 - he is great - he really helped my kids and has loads of experience of different ages and curriculums as he helps my friends as well.

My kids actually went through Kumon a couple of years ago in the US and did very well. I inquired about it as soon as I came to Dubai, but was told directly from Kumon that they dont have centers here. Could you please check with your friend and possibly get me a number? Thanks

Have you thought about doing Kumon?...its a japanese maths tutoring system. The reason I ask as both my neice and nephew transfered from the USA to Nz, and found they were way behind in maths (like at the bottom of there classes). Anyway there parents put them into the Kumon afterschool tutoring program, and they have gone from bottom to top. To be honest I don't know how it works, except that it starts at the beginning and makes sure at every stage they understand the key concepts. I know it is available here as an acquaintance was telling me her son was doing it with good results. It might be worth looking into? Maybe one of the ladies here can tell you where it is available? editec to add the aquaintance's child is at one of the American schools here. edited by Mrs Laughan on 14/01/2011

Hi Ladies, Really need a good math tutor for my 3rd grade DS. We live in JBR, so we would prefer the tutor to come home and teach, but would consider otherwise. We need someone from the American system. Any advice would be great. Thanks
