ibuprofen must not be given to asmatics. Good point...and I only started using that after advice from a good GP. ETA - it's not good for little ones with tummy upsets either. <em>edited by Green-ish on 18/01/2011</em>

what medicines do you always keep at home for ur little children for fever, cold, etc?? Paracetamol, ibuprofen and saline. Depends on how young they are really. For the first two years (after 3 months) I use nothing other than paracetamol (Calpol/Panadol), ibuprofen (nurofen/brufen) and saline drops without talking to a Dr. If they are unwell more than three days or get a fever over 38.5C I head for the Dr and follow their advice. Current recommendations are that specific cough and cold medications should not be used in children under 2yrs unless supervised directly by a medical professional.

wats for cough / cold ? If you are not familiar with medicines and there use seek professional advice first, especially when it comes to administering to children. I absolutely agree with you. i use almost all of the medicines mentioned below. Not all at one time i hope! LOL
