Is imigran (sumatriptan base as the succinate salt) available in Dubai and does it need prescription?

My mother is visiting she normally takes Migraleve but I advised her not to bring it because it contains codeine.

Has anyone used imigran or similar here?

I use Maxalt which is also from the triptan family, I can only get it on prescription in the UK but I can buy it over the counter here.

Where can I find Maxalt? My husband has Migraines and that's the only one that works for him. Please help!!!

Hi I have suffered from migraines from the age of 10 Currently i use Zomig which is only available on prescription in uk. You can get here over counter but expensive.it is the best thing i have used and i have tried them all!! If you want a couple of boxes 12 tablets in all you are welcome to take them . Just give me a call Janet. 0561702611 Hey, I have suffered since I was 16 and have to take Imigran about 4-5 times a month. I find the nasal spray best. I get it on prescription over here. What is zomig? Is that something that works as a preventative? I have also tried Maxalt but as I am breast feeding, Imigran is better. Doesn't always work though so I have to get myself to the a and e for a voltaren injection.

Thanks for all your advice. She has some tablets from prescription in the UK she's going to bring with her and rarely needs them. Hopefully she won't need any more but it's good to know she can get them here if need be.

As others have said, yes you can buy it but it's expensive. There is a similar drug called Naramig that is half the price ( it works in the same way as Imigran) and I can't tell the difference. As an aside, I could go through a box of 12 Imigran in a couple of months in the Uk and can't remember the last time I had a migraine here.

You can buy Immigran over the counter, no problem. You can get the 50mg or the 100mg tablets. The pharmacies also sell the nasal spray.

No the last time I bought it it was without prescription. Very expensive though, at least for me. Around AED 65 for a box with two tablets.
