My DD is due for hers this week. Doc says it should be no problem. I had mine. I hope I am making the best decision for her.
As far as I know, individual vaccines are not available in Dubai. The shots here do not have thimerasol.
There was a thread about this a few months back...here was my 2 cents...
"IMHO, giving the MMR separately is a respectful decision for the community and your child. Unfortunately, I don't think they offer them separately here at the moment. Please do call around to ask. My son received the MMR around 12 months in the US. Skeptics believe that giving the combined vaccine can "overload" a sensitive child's immune system, causing an allergic reaction of sorts, which can produce long term effects, such as disorders on the autism spectrum. This does not pertain to children who are developing at a completely normal pace. In the US, Jenny McCarthy has withdrawn her ploy to rid the world of vaccines since her son has done well in therapy and no longer shows signs on the autism spectrum. "
Also, it should be mentioned that pregnant women who do not test positive for Rubella antibodies must get a Rubella vaccination. Not sure if they just use the whole MMR (I sincerely hope not!) but that may provide some insight on the availablity of separate vaccines. In these two threads, I've yet to find one person that's had access to separate vaccines in the UAE.
Good luck to you :)
Does anyone know where I can get the measles, mumps & rubella separately in dubai?
Am curious - Are these single vaccines available in Dubai?
I was always told they are not available individually.
Ditto. I enquired about it about 18 months ago.
