Since last week she (18m beagle ) has been shedding a lot..have'nt changed her diet. we give her wet food - no salt. veggies and meat and rice with garlic. she's been on wet and dry (occasionally)diet ever since we got her. We brush her once daily but for the last 2 weeks since hub was away I dint do much of it.. I go nuts seeing her hair all over the place even in my LO's bowl !!!!!!! Will olive oil help? Should we change her diet..switch to dry food??

Heard of Furminator..yeah bit pricey on ebay i saw it for 21$ but that was long tiem back when my dog was not shedding this much.. I guess I should get one somehow. Does olive oil help?? I'm a sahm with a hyperactive toddler, hub is away most of the time ..vaccuming twice a day is getting on my nerves..There's something I'm not doing right. W is eating fine..sleeping fine(occasional snoring which is funny) weight is ave, playful too..[b'>she scratches herself occasionally and on the floor will be a pile of hair !!!!! is it normal?[/b'> Yes. As mentioned below, she's probably going through one of her annual sheds. People often don't realise just how much hair a short-haired dog can drop. Believe me, I understand how little time you might have, but finding five minutes a day to groom the dog through this period will make a massive difference.

Why you don’t check www.furminator.com and see which one is best for your dog? I am a cat person and they don’t really have much options for cats. My guess for the low price would be is that in the past (when I purchased my furminator), the brush didn’t have a button on top to press it and all the hair will fall, now the brush has a button so instead of stopping each minute to remove the hair from brush and continue, you can press the button and the hair quickly comes down so it makes brushing faster. So I guess they want to finish the old design that’s why it is on sale because really I don’t understand how it is this much cheaper!! But anyway check which one suits better your dog (they have videos on their website). To me it would have been easier if it had that button because my cats don’t like to be brushed so while I stop to remove the hair, they try to escape but it is not a big deal really, so use the special price as it is great.

First check the "Furminator" website and see which tool suits best your dog (it depends on the dog's size) and then search for it on amazon. I always buy from amazon in USA not UK, I have a feeling that it is cheaper.. but I am not sure..

No way it is not the one!!! I got mine for US$30 or so without the shipping charges of shop and ship and shipping charges inside US! I saw some replica of it on some websites so make sure you don't waste your money on others than the real furminator. I am a prime member on amazon so if you don't have shop and ship account, I can check for you the best price on amazon at night when I go home and let you know how much it would approximately cost you with shipping charges.

Furminator is definitely the best brush for de-shedding and also it comes sometimes on offers with a dry shampoo for de-shedding. I tried most of brushes available here in UAE and none of them was good. Even Kong brush is not bad but the fur flies in the air and on you while you brush. Furminator is totally different but unfortunately is not available in the UAE Market and you must order it from Amazon. It is pricey though, I mean really pricey (that's why they dont get it here) but it totally deserves the price. My siamese cat sheds a lot and Furminator saved our problem (kind of, as i still have to get the time to brush her).

I highly recommend you get a brush called Furminator for cats... and there are small, medium and large ones for dogs as well for those who own dogs :) I haven't seen it here in UAE (though I haven't looked) but I bought mine from the US on Amazon. The price for it is VEEERRRY varied though so go through them all to find the best price. I use it on my cat and although she has short hair, it takes A LOT of hair from her :)

Lots of dogs shed 2x a year (spring and autumn) - time to get a good brush and brush her everyday until she's over the worst of it.
