Hi Ladies, I am a newbie to Dubai and after 2 weeks my 3.5 yr old boy is bouncing off the walls here while we wait for placements at Nursery schools (which I'm still learning about). I know this is a long shot but are there any new families in Meadows 5 or Springs 1 with a boy round same age in similar situation keen to buddy up for bike-rides, play etc? Maybe you know of a local playgroup that you could recommend.... any advice would be wonderful x (OMG its raining!)

Hope you have your alcohol licence in place now that you have posted your number!!!! lol. Kensington is about 2 years old now. I had a look at it when it first opened. The rooms are tiny with quite big size classes but that was 2 years ago so they may have made the class sizes smaller now. Have a look at Blossom and Rising Star both good nurseries. Take it that you have looked at Raffles as that is basically on your door step. Welcome to Dubai!

Cheers Ladies. Yes I have his name down for starting school in Sept 2011 - I had been so focused on getting older daughter a place that I didn't think it would have been such an issue for the pre-schooler - Big mistake! Hey Freckles down to earth is good for me and I have duty free stocks in the cupboard.... :) so give me a call on three seven four seven one three one. Just got off phone to another nursery and may have a place for him so off to visit this afo. Kensington any good? xx

As you are new, and seem to be unsure of nursery schools, I am just wanting to make sure that if he turns 4 before 31 August you need to have his name down to start school in Sept 2011, if he is going to a BC school.... just incase you weren't aware of that yet.

Morning Chime. Welcome to Dubai..and yep its raining! I am in the Springs and have a 2 1/2 yr old boy (not at nursery) and a 41/2 yr old girl at school in the mornings. Happy to have playdates but be warned I am a down to earth kind of a gal, like a cigarette in the garden and a glass of wine in the afternoon while the kids play (although stocks are running miserably low at the moment...darn January for being such a lean month!) so its just coffee right now. Anyway, if I haven't scared you off give me a shout. I also have loads of pals with children of various ages and genders. x
