Hi Ani_17
Just a suggestion but why to add another post, seperate to this one, under the topic 'nursery suggestions' or 'Best Nurseries JLT and surrounding areas'. It might get you more viewings and responses.

Thank you @beeniedubai that's really kind. Unfortunately I do have a short maternity leave and hence unfortunately needing care early on, wish I could stay home with him but just not possible.
Thanks for your advice.
If anyone can recommend specific nurseries in these areas; JLT, media city or close by do let me know, would trust word of mouth above anything else.
Thank you
congratulation on the new addition! nursery/day care is a daunting task- we all only want whats best for our little ones.
there are nurseries that will accept infants as young as 45 days old (this is the length of many working womens' maternity leave). there are many great nurseries in JLT and the marina area.
i've decided to keep my son home the first year of his life, but i have that luxury because i work from home and run my own business. i have that flexibility and know many moms do not. consider what you desire from your nusery - type of staff, activities, facilities, ethos, hours.
good luck!
Thanks so much :)
I am looking for a reputable nursery/child care in the JLT or media city area, even Marina or close by. If anyone has any recommendations I would love to hear. As a first time mum and new to Dubai I'd appreciate any advice.
Thank you
You're in the best place here on EW. Just put in your prefered area and i'm sure many mums will give you their opinions, ratings and prices on some.
Lots of luck. xxxx
Thank you so much @seasand
That's really useful to know, especially hearing the difference compared to back home in the UK. Now all I need to find is a good nursery for him if he can start at 4 months!
Many congratulations on the arrival of your little baby boy. :balloon:
Many nurseries here take little babies from 4 months and some even earlier. It all depends on the particular nursery. Not like the UK where most of them like to have little ones toilet trained. Hope that helps and good luck. xxxxx:cool:
Hi All,
It's my first post on Expat Woman! :-) I've just had my first newborn baby boy and am planning for the next few months and his first year. I was wondering what age kids start nursery in Dubai, does this vary from nursery to nursery?
Any advice would be gladly appreciated!
Thank you,
Ani
