I had a couple come to my flat to look at a printer.
I asked if they wanted a drink as it was steaming outside. They said yes and I placed 2 cans of cool drink, 2 bottles of water and 2 cartons of juice on the kitchen bench along with chilled glasses.
Not only did the woman put all 6 drinks in her handbag she pocketed the glasses as well :\:
Omg that is pathetic.. Hope they at least bought the printer
They didn't as they said it was too much to pay for a printer for their son even though the price I was asking was less than a packet of 4 replacement cartridges and I was including 2 packets of replacements cartridges with it.
I didn't need the money but wouldn't budge because I didn't like their attitude. In the end I told people it was sold and gave it to the girls who work in the beauty salon in my building so they could print off photos from home.
Some peoples children.. :\:
If it weren't for the fact our thieves had a 2 year old as an only child, I would swear they were the same people.. :D

Seriously CT? the glasses and the drinks? blimey, it's like pinching the cutlery at a dinner. I am sitting here shaking my head trying to come up with what possible thought process was going on in their heads to conclude that that was one: and acceptable way to proceed and two: expected of them.
mad.

O M G
when did you find out?
did you call her up?
I would be livid
I realised she pocketed the drinks when they left and had a giggle but it took a minute or two for the penny to drop about the glasses.
I bolted out the door, took the stairs instead of the lift and met them at the ground floor and demanded my glasses [u'>and[/u'> the drinks back.
They then tried the 'I thought you were giving them to us' malarky. Blo0dy cheek.

serves them right and good job on getting them charged. Hopefully they will think twice before repeating their stunt.
If it was essential items I would be a lot more tolerant, but plants are hardly a life or death item.
Some peoples sense of entitlement just floors me.
Hardly think that people sobbing about being poor are willing to purchase PLANTS!!! What a joke... seriously, if they're sort of cash I think a little greenery is pretty far down on their list of essentials!
Great to hear they got their comeuppance (sp?)!!! :)
serves them right. Hope it teaches them a lesson - what a greedy grasping nasty couple.
I'd have loved to have taken your pots (or some of them) but we're not moving til October so there's no point adding to our already large load of 'stuff'. And I would have paid you properly!
Nope they paid 500 dhs because they were thieves like that and tried to steal the other 2 potted plants they wanted.
Don't know their names, will not name the nationality. They were fined a 1000 dhs for the theft or so the police officer told us. So in essence they wound up paying more than the agreed upon price.
Okay VP this is for you. My husband said this couple is worse than gypsies.
The couple came 4x yes count them 4x to look at the plants prior to purchase/steal them. We had an agreed upon price of 850 dirhams for them to take all 45 plants and pots from our backyard. The two plants and pots in the front yard were never part of the deal as the owner of the villa wanted them and was purchasing them.
So the night they finally decided to purchase said plants, they were loaded up into their car, my husband waited for them to pay and they in turn said 850 was too much they only wanted to pay 500. On top of their 500 dh purchase they wanted the following items they spied in our house.
The gazebo in the backyard
THe highchair for my 2 year old
The 2 potted plants in the front yard
The fountain in the backyard
The BBQ
An indoor plant that was already sold
2 glass vases that were also sold
and our silk rugs
My husband told them no way, they agreed upon the price for the plants and he wasn't relenting from the price. So the mans wife started yelling at my husband about how we were ripping them off and that 500 dhs ware more than fair for all of the plants and the above items. My husband the ever so patient man told them the above items were not part of the deal and they were not going to be part of the deal.
So the mans ever dominate wife started a sob story about how they lived with his mother, brothers, their wives adn their children and how her and her daughter don't see her husbands salary because he gives it to his mom every month and they are on an allowance. So 500 dhs was more than they were given permission to spend and that if his brother found out they were spending that much money they would be in a lot of trouble.
My husband didn't relent. Got into a big argument with the man telling him he basically had no balls and to take the plants in their car and leave. Told them he didn't want their money, they were thieves, etc. Finally the man handed our houseboy 500 dhs and left without the added items.
A few hours later, the couple returned for the plants in the front. Only they were caught and turned in.
