Owed money by ex husband - how do I legally enforce the contract between the two of us

My ex husband owes me a substantial amount of money from our divorce two years ago. Stupidly I didn't take him to court as we were on good terms but he has still not paid me the money owed which he was suppose to within a year. We have a written contract between us that is not legally enforced but my question is how do I now get him to pay me the money legally. Will a solicitor/lawyer be able to enforce the payment. We were married and divorced in the UAE, no children and he is British and I am Australian. If anyone can recommend an affordable solicitor/lawyer that deals with divorce disputes please let me know. I no longer have a UAE visa either, so not sure if that affects the situation or not. TIA.

Thanks Mahr and if he does not have a visa either? I know he still lives in Dubai and is a partner of a company in Dubai but he does not have a residence visa as far as I know unless he got one thr...

You will need to appoint a lawyer and sign to him Power of Attorney to represent you, then he can have your contract legally enforced if he is still a resident in the UAE.
