For the past 2 days the 2 Emarat station near my house had no petrol!
Went to another one today - also none.
Managed to fill up at ENOC. Huge queues

Anybody have any idea what the issue is?

DH just filled up both cars, no queues. At Emarat? They're the ones with the problem, Enoc and Eppco are ok, but some are running low because of extra demand. It's only in central Dubai, the surrounding emirates seem to be ok.

You see Dubai were silly, they decided not to build refineries like Abu Dhabi did. So they send their oil to Asia to be refined, so they're paying top dollar to send it out and bring it back again - daft really, so now there's an issue with logistics and it's all running short. AD will be sitting laughing at DXB wanting to buy fuel from them - teehee. Seems like AD always has the upper hand.

Basically, Emarat are losing millions a day because they're buying fuel at higher prices than they're selling it for. I suspect people - tanker drivers, shipping etc etc are waiting for payment, hence the delay in distribution. But I can only speculate - *cough, cough*.

SunDevil, The price of petrol is set by the government and not by the companies. I understand that only Emarat have issues with supply at the moment.

I filled up on Sun at ENOC and they only had Super...no special......this happened a few months ago...they had no deliveries from AD....only lasted a few days.
