Does anyone have plans to watch the Royal Wedding?

I have heard of a few things going on around town but love to hear what others have planned.

I saw a great group of Facebook the other day called The Royal Wedding Drinking Game. Something along the lines of 1. Drink each time the phrase 'future king' is uttered by the commentators. 2. Do a shot if anyone says 'diana would be proud'. 3. Drink each time a reporter standing in an empty street says 'kate will be expected any minute now". :D. Funny...

Is it being broadcast on TV anywhere?

A crowd of friends are holding a wedding breakfast in one of our friends homes. We are all dressing up in our now defunct "mother of the bride" outfits, nibbling canapes and sipping champers while watching live coverage on TV! One friend has her own wedding stationery business and is supplying little horse drawn carriages filled with "favours". Our DH's are hitting the local pub LOL!! sounds lovely Joyce! I was in the UK last week and there's such excitement about the wedding - shame we are not there for it as it would be fab to have another street party but......I think the Polo club bash should be loads of fun - we have a great table with great friends so should be a day to remember. I know all the kids can't wait to celebrate an important piece of history.

Clare, was thinking of this how do you go about booking it (Polo club?) and also do you know how much it would cost for 2adults and 2 small people. I heard its 100aed a car? and then someone else told me it was around 450 per adult/ TIA I think it sold out ages ago but I may be wrong....... Just checked for you - yes - the whole brunch part is sold out but you can go to the polo for 100 dhs for the car and then stay on for the after wedding party for 50 dhs per person...... Here's the link with full details for you - http://www.poloclubdubai.com/en/events/event-cat/royal-wedding-polo-cup-2011-2.html hth

We've booked a table at Al Qasr "Royal Brunch" but there are heaps of venues hosting parties and it is being broadcast on the BBC and probably most English speaking channels too.
