British passport holders definitely get a 10 day grace period, but not sure which others. You need a response specifically from an Ozzie passport holder.

Can you not still renew the visa once at immigration? I've done it a couple of times in the past for my mother (British passport - if that makes a difference). It would be worth calling immigration to ask. It was something like Dhs.500 each but it extended the visa for another 30 days. yes you can go to immigration and pay 500 but only once

Ladies, I have visitors who have come from oz who will be staying in Dubai for 5 weeks but only got a 30 day visa pass. is it still required to do a visa run even if they will be overstaying for maximum of 5 days. my husband did some research and said you get 10 days grace period, is this true????????????????????? edited by Ms Sunshine on 05/02/2011 i would do a visa run to be sure, otherwise 100 per day overstay

It is your call but both my kids overstayed their 30 day visas by a few days (4 and 7 from memory) and were not fined. You can do a visa run but I would not bother, the cost of overstaying your visa if you are fined is only about AED 30 per day so still cheaper than getting a new tourist visa at Hatta, they are about AED 200 per person now.

best to go to immigration and ask them directly. On the website it says a Visit visa cannot be extended but a Tourist Visa can be extended once.

I might be wrong but I think you only have the 10 day grace period when you are renewing your tourist visa from a previous visa run but not sure.
