A Question for Springs Residents
Hi Everyone,
I have a question concerning the LG A/C wall control units. The landlord showed us the basics - how to turn it on and set the desired temperature, but that was it. Now that we are starting to use the A/C more, we've noticed that even though the A/C compressor will cut off when the room temperature reaches the desired setting (25C), the fan from the A/C unit keeps running. It would run on and on all night, if we didn't get up and turn off the A/C completely. Of course, then the room starts to heat up after an hour or two.
In our previous experience with A/C controls, when the inside temperature cools off, the thermostat would turn off the unit completely. When the temperature rose above the set temp, the thermostat would turn on the A/C again, and begin cooling the room down again. Is this not the way the LG systems work? Is there some setting that we have forgotten to use? Is the fan supposed to be kept running 24/7? During the whole summer?
In a similar vein, in our villa, there is another LG control unit on the wall of the upstairs hallway, next to the bathroom door. This unit controls the A/C for the two smaller bedrooms. (The master bedroom has it's own unit.) In order to keep the rooms cool, we close the bedroom doors. However, we're a little worried that when we do this, the outside wall thermostat will never hit the desired temperature, keeping the A/C running all night long. Has anyone else noticed this design flaw? Are people expected to keep the upstairs bedroom doors open, so that the cool air can drift through the hallway and down the stairs? That would create some privacy issues in our home. Like the downstairs situation, even when the A/C cuts off, the fan will continue to run.
Any advice you can give to us will be greatly appreciated.
