if for City Centre - definitely try Lawrence Copeland, have used them for 3 years and they are brilliant. they charge a fixed price (50 GBP) per month and not a percentage like others.

it completely depends on the area as some are strong in different parts. eg city centre has whole different set of agents that i would recommend versus heaton moor, for example. where exactly are you looking? rental or to buy? a good place to start is rightmove.co.uk
