DH and DS are going to see the Red Bull X Fighters show at JBR tonight. What would be the best way to get there as I would imagine the traffic is going to be crazy. Is the metro station within walking difference? TIA

Major traffic jams from Al Sufouh Rd from The Westin towards JBR been snarled up since 4.30 and still just as bad. Pity anyone trying to get to an emergency in that area tonight. People seem to be abandoning cars and walking. edited by lal1 on 15/04/2011

car parks all along the front are closed off as well (near hilton) there is absolutely no parking tonight. Metro would be the only sensible way to get here tonight - it's a good 10 min walk, but a pleasant walk across the bridge over the marina.

I would advise anyone living in JBR not to take their car out today unless absolutely necessary as I imagine that later on all the roads in the area will be gridlocked. Hi, good advice. Not only this..., but also it's possible you might not find a space in the area where you normally park. Last night we had to park on the rough opposite Sofitel

The following information has been posted in our lifts this week. There will be shuttle buses from JLT metro station, the big sandy area next to the Habtoor Grand, DIMC and the airstrip across from DIMC. (You could walk from the JLT metro station which I should think would take about 10 minutes. Probably quicker than the shuttle bus !! ) The Walk will be closed to traffic from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. between the Hilton and Amwaj Rotana roundabouts. Only drivers with authorized passes, taxis, shuttle buses and emergency vehicles will be allowed through. Public parking area in Rimal sector will be closed all day. Traffic entering the Walk from Murjan will be directed back to the Sufouh Road, Dubai Marina, at the Hilton roundabout. Between 15 - 20,000 people are expected. I would advise anyone living in JBR not to take their car out today unless absolutely necessary as I imagine that later on all the roads in the area will be gridlocked. Mine will stay in the carpark ! In spite of all the mayhem there will be, I am sure you will enjoy the show. edited by amelia on 15/04/2011 ETA - Parking access for residents will be maintained at all times on the sector roads and/or marina access points. edited by amelia on 15/04/2011
