Good morning!

The in house lawyer who has worked for the company since 1989 will work his last day tomorrow before retiring.

I'd like to get him a goodbye present and have asked my boss and he said "Yeah, fine, whatever, just let me know how much it is" (he's not really the sentimental type...)

Anyway, what should I get him? He's of Pakistani nationality. I was thinking a nice pen with his initials engraved on the clip, and maybe also the years he has worked here i.e. 1989 - 2016.

But where can i buy a nice pen? Mont Blanc is too high end (read: Pricey!) and Parker is a bit too low end. Is there a brand somewhere in the middle? Or does anyone have any other ideas what I can get him?

TIA!

Personalized cufflinks from Belfast Trading! (04-2219455) You can get his initials engraved on the cufflinks

Thanks for the replies! Unfortunately I didn't see them before I rushed to World of Pens in Town Center as MrsMozz's suggestion. Such a great selection! Was there for ages. Picking up the pen later this afternoon. Really really wished I got "Thank you" engraved instead of initials and dates :( Oh well. I'm sure he'll still like it.

I would also recommend a watch. You'll have loads of choices as per your budget and can be personalized easily. Much more useful and long lasting than a pen.

Or lovely watch? There are too many options, and also it can be personalized. But may be instead of names and years, it`s better to have something nice, such as: Thank you, John or similar. Just an idea :)

There's an excellent pen shop in Town Centre on Beach Road... However, does he actually use an ink pen? If it were me, I'd much prefer something specific to Dubai, such as a picture from Gallery One, which has an amazing range of styles and images. You could always get a metal plate with the dates engraved on...
