If you really want to sponsor her and are sure that she is coming back from her holidays then do the transfer asap. You (the new sponsors) need to go the Immigration (with passport and other needed documents - check from their website) along with the maid (passports photos + passport along) and the soon to be ex-sponsor with his/hers passport. If the ex-sponsor cannot make it you still need to have a copy of his passport & residence page and a NOC letter. Transferring is cheaper and easier for all of you. Then you just take care of your maid's medical and will have her visa in a week.
If the ex-sponsor cancels and she flies back to the Philippines it is VERY difficult to come back on any kind of visa as the local government has made the exit rules more strict.
Oh dear... It gets more complicated!! I do remember reading about that rule on a post a while ago on here. Perhaps we will just have to pay for the visa for a month before we need her. Thanks for your help!
I think the easiest way would be that the previous employer cancels her visa, then she goes back to her own country as planned, and when she comes back she will have a 30 days tourist visa and you will be able to sponsor her...
or was there a new law saying that if a person (from a certain category of person) leaves the UAE after a visa cancellation, this person has to stay outside the UAE for 6 months before being allowed to come back ?
She is from the Philippines. Her current sponsor is saying that she will have a problem leaving the Philippines with a nearly expired visa. Not sure if the wool is being pulled over my eyes....
where is she from? Are you asking if she will have a problem with immigration allowing her to leave her home country with a nearly expired visa?? Or that she will have an issue arriving here?
My husband and I are in the process of sponsoring a maid and we don’t have a clue what we are doing!! I think we are beginning to understand the visa process from searching other threads on here but now we have a new problem...
The maid currently has a visa that expires at the end of March and the initial agreement was that her current sponsor would transfer her visa to us once it had expired.
She is returning to her home country in Feb for 2 weeks and now her sponsor is saying that she needs to transfer her visa to us before she leaves Dubai otherwise she will have problems entering back into Dubai as she will only have 2 weeks left on her current visa? That means we will then be providing her with a visa for a month before we actually require her.
Is what her current employer saying correct? She still has 2 weeks left on her visa when she returns. Why can’t we just cancel or transfer it over then? Plus what is the actual benefit of transferring a visa rather than asking her previous employer to just cancel it? Thank you so much for your help....
