For those of you who've done this, I was just wondering about something.
We plan to sponsor my mum who will stay for 6 months and then go home for 6 months each year.
From what I understand, part of what is required is a letter from our embassy stating that I am her sole support. Fine, embassy said no probs.
But next year when we come to sponsor her a second time, will they wonder how she's been out of the country for 6 months when I'm her sole support?
I would imagine not because I could be supporting her in another country but I just thought I'd ask.
Also, have I maybe got it all wrong? I know the sponsorship is for 1 year So when it's up, do we just renew it? Or do we need to go through the whole thing again because she's left the country?
Thanks so much.

We did this for years and no one asked...as long as you fit the criteria and pay the fees...:))

Thank you ladies. Could either of you tell me what the letter from the embassy should say? I contacted the Canadian embassy a few days back and this guy said, in a very uninterested tone, that "yes, yes, you write that I blah blah blah am supporting my mother etc etc (he actually said "etc etc") and then bring it here and we will witness your signature and stamp it. I plan to go in tomorrow and just realised tonight that I don't actually know what needs to be said!! And I won't have time to ring them tomorrow before going in as I need to be there as soon as they open. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks. Also, can anyone tell me what the fee is? I know there's a Dhs 5000 deposit but surely there's also a non-refundable fee, no? Finally, anjum_gulf... I can't be certain that my mum would come back before 6 months are up. She might be a week or two more for various reasons. Do you know what the fine is?

As you know you need a letter from your embassy second thing you need a salary certificate of the sponsor .visa is just for one year you just have to renew after every year and she cannot leave the country for more than six months that means she have to come back before six months otherwise visa will not expire but you have to pay fine.

No Issues. In my Case they never asked me even one question. My mother mostly lives in my home country but at the time of renewal she has to be here.
