SupraLASIK?

I am about to turn 20 and was wondering whether this will be a better surgery over LASIK. I am sick of wearing glasses and suffered from a corneal ulcer last year ( due to contact lens).

I have always wanted to have a perfect vision but did not want to do LASIK because I heard that the cornea never heals completely after that. In addition, the eyes got very sensitive and people had to repeat the procedure after a few years.

Since I don't want that, I am considering SupraLASIK and wondering how effective it is. It just sounds too good to be true.

PS - Here is a link to it: http://www.supralasik.com/faq.php

PSS - Anyone knows about this Imperial Healthcare Institute where it apparently gets done? I have never been to that part of Dubai so will like to get some information.

I am interested in knowing more about SupraLasik from others that have tried it please. I would like to hear from more than one source on this subject. Also, there was no mention of the price???

I had my supralasik surgery done at Imperial Healthcare by Dr Gauba. My vision is great and I'm so glad I chose this procedure over the other options. My DH also had it done and is doing great so it really is as great as it sounds! As far I know, it is only available at Imperial for now as it German technology which has been fine tuned by the experts at Imperial to make it safer with less risk of dry eye - very important for the climate in this region. The procedure was very easy for me - took about 30 seconds per eye!! The first couple of days were a bit uncomfortable, but once settled apparently my eye now looks like nothing ever happened because there was no cut or flap. The great part is that I can see perfectly and eyes are very comfortable with no dryness...highly recommended - great service with great results. All my friends I have sent to them have also had similarly amazing results....Good luck! Imperial Healthcare is on 04 4393737 Thank you so much for your reply. Apparently, the procedure is better known as Supralase so that's the reason there was a lack of results on google. Anyway, I did call them up and the receptionist seemed a bit lost. However, she connected me to the nurse who asked me to come for a consultation. I guess since my vision is not stable yet, I will wait for a few more years before going for it. They say that your vision should be stable for at least 18 months before considering any kind of corrective eye surgery. Anyway, may I know how much did they charge you? And how long after the surgery were you able to see clearly? I would really appreciate it if you could give me full details about your procedure and experience with SupraLasik.

I'd be VERY skeptical. I googled it as was also interested and the only pages that come up are the supralasik.com site, their Facebook link and Imperial Healthcare. And when you click on Imperial Healthcare there's something wrong with the site! hmmmm... Oh yeah, not enough links to it. But the Imperial Healthcare site is working fine for me.

Sure, I will give them a call tomorrow and update here. Yeah I know what you mean....I have never heard about it before either so I am sceptical about it. In fact, the first time when I saw this, I thought it was a spam :P

This sounds very interesting, never heard of supraLASIK... I have always wanted perfect vision aswell but was unfortunately told that I am not a good candidate for the PRK procedure when I was evaluated, because of some dry spots on the eye. This was 2 years ago, left me quite heartbroken, maybe this procedure will work for me too.... Flames92 please keep us updated on how much you learn about this procedure, how much does it cost and whether you decide to go for it or not.
