as they now have wings? weird...anyhow one has bitten the dogs foot and it's driving her mental, what can I do? Put some human anti itch stuff on it?
LOL it's perfectly normal for some ants to develop wings, they do it for the purpose of being able to leave and find new colonies. They're not a species of ants with wings, but rather certain ants within a species who develop wings. We have loads of them. As soon as they mated the males die anyway and the females go on to become queens.
Poor doggy, hope she feels better soon.

our place is like a nature reserve for all sorts of beasties, and I'm determined to start fresh, BUT i don't want to harm the good ones...like my gekos that I love. Hmmm, will do some searching and find out what can be done that causes the least harm.
Poor pup, still beside herself and desperate for a nap so doesnt know what to do with herself.
Pest control sprayed around all of the drains in the house, every crack, plant, and door to eliminate them. Up until the time we moved out they had not re-appeared
Who did you use BC?
I am not sure the name of the company. They were recommended by Emaar. But they didn't use harmful products due to Emaar's regulations.
And the original reason we had to call them was because we had 4 beehives in our tree's.

leave them - they rarely come out...usually only on the odd humid day and then they disappear again.
Wait and see - I promise they will be gone in a couple of hours!
I have them in my garden and they appear once every few months - no point in calling pest control as they will have gone before they get to you. If you put powder/boiling water or anything else nasty onto them then they will just move elsewhere in your garden anyway.
Let the dog lick her foot - it will heal it better than anything else.

Ours were out every single day. And all over the house.

A few years back a company was mentioned on here that used products that were pet safe, veitas posted about it, i wonder if anyone remembers the company.

they are persistant...going to give the animals a weekend away some where and rid house and garden of nasties...fed up with it.
Theres no way Kacie will let me ice it, but don't think I can just leave it either, she is hitting the roof with it! think will try vinegar....,
We wound up with those in our villa about 2 months ago in the ranches. Took having pest control come out to spray to eliminate them. They are persistent and their bites hurt.
