I've got to go to the visa section of the US Consulate but I've been told that there are loads of roadworks there and parking problems. Has anyone been there recently and if so, what is the access/parking like? I'm planning to come along Al Khail Road from Dubai Mall/DIFC direction via Wafi and head in that way to reduce morning traffic.

Thanks for the advice. I just drove right up there past Bur Juman without any problem (I left lots of time just in case) and parked behind the consulate in paid parking with no problem at all!

HI! there is plenty of paid parking slots available at all times of the day on both sides of the consulate from where i can see. ...i live right across. :)

Walking distance? In this heat? ? Yes as mentioned: you need to set an appointment first, and be prepared for queuing up, it'll be a long march in, AND you can't take your hand bag, mobile/ tablet/ or anything except the required papers and the fees only!! Good luck

You need to make an appointment in advance. You can't just turn up. Go to the website and it'll give you the time slots available. Just a FYI if you weren't aware.

There is paid parking across the street if you get a spot. But I have to say they have completely torn the roads apart and you'd be better off getting a taxi or a friend to drive you. Is the visa section open in the mornings?

How about taking the metro to Burj juman stop? Its walkable from there (two blocks or so) or a 5 min cab ride. I've always done this as driving seemed too problematic. Just a suggestion.
