Very thorough post from elmsre :) There are many schools and nurseries withing 20 min drive as The Villa is right between E66 / 311 & 611. You can also add Wafi at 20 min as another close by shopping mall & restaurants, Arabian Ranches Golf/Polo Clubs, Desert Palm Hotel for a drink. A few restaurants now deliver food and you can have the usual laundry, maid services, early bird etc... coming too. Regarding buying and maintenance fees I think it depends if you're with Dubai Properties or Mazaya, I would read The Villa forum as a few people have posted about their experience as a buyer and the handover process. We're still having some snagging done (we are persistent tenants lol) so as emlres said, you do get there in the end. The landscaping is moving along nicely and will look beautiful once finished (phase 1 is almost there and they started putting the irrigation system for phase 2). hth xx

Moved in last June, alot has changed since then. Phase 1 landscaping is almost completed. We rent, the maintenance by the developer is pretty hit and miss but they kind of get there in the end. Location wise I love it, we are central to everywhere. 25 mins to airport, Dubai Mall and MOE,Festival City 15/20mins to Mirdiff. . I normally shop at C4 in MCC, or Spinneys at Silicon Oasis or at Motor City. Not sure about Nurseries but am sure somebody else will comment, schools nearby are Repton, new Gems Silicon Oasis opening in September. Taxis are no problem at all, most come from there base at the ranches. Internet & Phone are with DU, and yes we are with DEWA. Depending on where you want to eat, but Motor City, Outlet Mall, Festival City, Mirdiff CC all within a 20 min drive. The Granada's don't have an internal courtyard, if you want the courtyard then stay with the Mallorca, Marbella or Valencia. HTH's

I don't live there, but plenty here do, I'm sure someone will be along to help in a minute. In the meantime, have you seen this site: http://thevilladubai.webs.com/ ? Also, if you tried a search on here for "the Villa", you might find some of the answers to your questions.

does anyone live here can you tell me what its like. i know it has no facilities but whats it like re maintenance if renting, where do you rent or have you bought are the fees extortionate. how easy is it to get in and out of, how far off is driving to airport, dubai mall, mall of emirates etc. where are nearest shops. are there any childrens nurseries nearby and junior schools. can you get taxis to and from - how easy is it to get one. of impossible. what internet and phone connections do you have there. is it dewa or other cooling. where is nearest places for dinner/drinking - hw far etc. i am particularily interested in the marbella/ valencia/ grenada with the central internal courtyard. would u recommend. thanks ladies. edited by fairwater on 03/04/2011
